Arista Delivery Diary: April 1, 2012 – Reducing NYC’s carbon footprint one PC at a time

On Saturday March 31st I witnessed firsthand the reduction of NYC’s carbon footprint through the recycling of office equipment and computers. I was asked by one of my delivery clients to pick up and deliver 1) large copy machine 1)fax machine and 1) PC to be recycled .  I thought this was just the effort of one environmentally conscious design firm to reduce their carbon footprint by recycling inefficient office machines, but when I got to the drop off on 23rd Street, I realized that this was a planned event. Numerous NYC residents come out in the rain carrying their old clunker PCs and printers to be recycled.  A wonderful thing to witness and made me realize that city dwellers care just as much if not more about reducing their carbon footprint, on PC at a time.  7 million people, millions of old PC’s  lots of carbon,  Let’s recycle the CLUNKERS!!!
